Barrier Management Program
The Barrier Management Program is an inspection program that maintains the barriers to specific sections of a facility. Once a barrier plan is in place, Wurster Construction certified personnel, trained in barrier management or "Firestop Training", inspect and maintain the barriers to effectively protect all areas of the facility. - Life Safety Drawings identifying barrier locations – (If drawings are not available WCS will establish baseline drawings for the facility.)
- A Detailed inspection of system integrity
- Reporting established based on 20' wall segments
- Report deficiencies to owner – including cost estimates to re-establish compliance
- Establish preferred firestopping products with owner based on their preference
- STI
- Hilti
- Tremco
- Consult with code compliance specialists for potential variations in barrier
- Perform repairs
- Barriers labeled per current standards
- All repairs labeled to establish date, product, installing person, phone numbers and UL system number
- Photographs of deficiencies and completed repairs provided at owners request
- Final walk-through with owner and/or inspector at completion
